Privacy Policy

This policy explains what the Channel Tools browser extension and its service ("Channel Tools", "we") handle, why, and for how long. Channel Tools works inside YouTube Studio in your browser. It has no user accounts, passwords or advertising, and it does not sell data.

1. What stays on your computer

• Your video file. The extension reads frames from it in your browser; the file itself is never uploaded to us.
• Thumbnail drafts, saved versions and your "My elements" library, stored in your browser's local storage.
• A random install ID and, if you have one, your account key, stored in the extension's local storage.

2. What is sent to our service, and why

• AI suggestions: a few still frames from your video, its filename and your browser language, so AI can suggest titles, a description and tags.
• AI thumbnail edits: the photo you are editing and your instruction, or the description of a graphic you want made.
• Credits: your install ID and account key, to look up your credit balance and charge for requests.
• Reliability reports: when Studio's page layout changes and the extension cannot find a field, it can send a description of the upload dialog's structure with all text and personal content removed, so we can fix the extension.

Frames, photos, filenames and instructions are passed to our AI provider to produce the result and returned to you. We do not store them, and they are not used by us to train AI models.

3. Payments

Credit packs are paid through Stripe. Stripe collects and processes your payment details under its own privacy policy; we never see your full card number. We keep a record of each purchase (the Stripe checkout reference, the pack and the credits added) and of how credits were used, so we can show your balance and handle refunds.

4. Service providers

• Cloudflare hosts our service and this website.
• Stripe processes payments.
• An AI provider generates suggestions and images from what is described in section 2.

Each provider processes data only to provide its service to us.

5. How long we keep data

• Frames, photos and instructions: not stored after the request finishes.
• Credit balance, purchase and usage records: for as long as your account key exists, and as required for tax and accounting.
• Reliability reports and service logs: up to 30 days.

6. Your choices and rights

You can remove the extension at any time, which deletes everything it stored in your browser. You can ask us to access or delete the records linked to your account key by contacting us at the address below. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, and we will honor them.

7. Children

Channel Tools is not intended for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

8. Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the extension.
